2 works during the VALDART 2014 exposition on the battle grounds of Verdun (Fr) in Eglise Dun-sur-Meuse (Fr) commemorating 100 years since WWI. The Battle of Verdun still symbolizes the senseless slaughter of men, 263.00 dead and 492.000 wounded.
Salvo Regina (2014) Installation of a sculpted ice mortar shell (lingam) in Marian setup. From the alchemical prayer stool (lead collar, gold plated inside, light), a transitory object, the viewer steps into a dual reality. Launch for destruction or melt for live, masculin as an erected sacred lingam and feminine in it’s Marian setup (madonna contour) temporarely holding water to potentially make (mother) earth fertile again.
Pietà (2014) Unmanipulated photographic work of ice and rags with reference to the descent from the cross. The soul of the cold body (ice) is freed (melting) and further redeemed from the tangible dimensions.
